Grassroots energy propels Tom Nelson to be first Wis. Senate candidate approved for the August primary ballot

APPLETON, WI. – U.S. Senate candidate Tom Nelson was approved to be on the ballot Wednesday evening, submitting a total of 2471 signatures and making him the first candidate to gain approval. With the deadline to submit signatures six days away, Nelson currently is the only candidate to achieve this feat. Nelson released this statement in response:

“Our campaign is people-powered and that’s exactly why I’m so proud to be the first candidate on the ballot for the U.S. Senate primary. It’s a measure of the renewable grassroots energy we are marshaling in all corners of this state that will be the engine for us to take on – and defeat – Ron Johnson in November.

“We’re still underdogs but, as the only candidate in this race elected from a Trump county, achievements like this show we have the formula to win.”
